All you’ll need is a crescent wrench or a 1/2-inch socket wrench. Your order will arrive with custom-made genuine steel brackets. All of the bolt inserts are pre-threaded for ease, and all designs include eight (8) or less bolts.

Visit the Assembly & Care page to see which designs require assembly. This information is also noted on individual product pages.

If you prefer, or need, assembly assistance, we offer a White Glove delivery option with assembly included, at an additional fee. Get all the details on White Glove Delivery.

Kase Custom builds industry-standard heights for dining, counter and bar tables.

This means our table heights are:

  • 30-inches for Dining Height
  • 36-inches for Counter Height
  • 42-inches for Bar Height

Seating options appropriately titled 'dining', 'counter', or 'bar' height should work with your respective table height. (Meaning, choose counter height stools for your counter height table.)

If your preferred seating isn't labeled in that way, here's a simple guide. As a rule of thumb, you want 12-inches between the top of the seat and the bottom of the table.

  • A 30" dining height table is best paired with standard dining chairs that is approximately 18” tall.
  • A 36" counter height table is best paired with stools or seating that is approximately 24” tall.
  • A 42" bar height table is best paired with stools or seating that is approximately 30” tall.

We offer wood bench seating in each of the heights, to coordinate with your preference of table height.

If you’re searching for a table or bench height beyond these three standards, contact us at Design Help. We're here to help design the right piece of custom wood furniture for your specific space's needs.

We build each piece of custom wood furniture based on your specifications. As such, orders are final sale.

If you need help deciding the right dimensions for your space, we offer complimentary Design Help services. This service ensures your furniture will work well in your space(s) and is intended to build confidence in your purchase.

After all, our thoughtfully designed furniture is built to last for generations.

And while sales are final, we stand by our products throughout their lifetime. If you ever encounter an issue, please contact us at hello@kasecustom.com.

Materials and Finishes

By definition, reclaimed wood is any wood salvaged from old buildings, furniture, or other sources that are no longer serving their purpose.

Each piece of repurposed wood holds a legacy of something old becoming new again, and this storied character offers warmth and timeless beauty to every space it inhabits.

Since we opened in 2014, reclaimed wood has always been right for us. For many, its appeal lies solely in its sustainability. By repurposing salvaged wood, we reduce the demand for new wood, which preserves our forests.

For us, its even more. Reclaimed wood is also a durable option for furnishings because it has had years (and sometimes decades) to dry out, making it stable.

When new wood is harvested, it’s sometimes cut before it has reached full maturity, which can lead to warping and/or cracking as it dries if not properly treated and maintained.

The appeal of reclaimed wood is also its aesthetic. Each piece of wood holds an air of strength and resilience, and a depth of history that holds a bit of mystery.

At Kase Custom, we honor the uniqueness of the wood we craft with and the customers we serve. Because of your individual needs, preferences, and spaces, we offer an abundance of customizations for each of our pieces.

All of this combined makes reclaimed wood our preferred, symbiotic choice.

Our reclaimed wood is sourced from within the United States, and is selected for its health, strength, and inherent beauty.

We carefully curate wood selection for every order, making each piece of our custom wood furniture one-of-a-kind.

Our rigorous wood sourcing focuses on the health and beauty of the wood to ensure each piece of furniture starts with quality.

We build with reclaimed wood sourced throughout the United States, chosen for its health, strength, and beauty.

While we cannot guarantee that a certain wood species will be included, or excluded, from your Kase Custom furniture, we do ensure it's healthy, naturally beautiful and meticulously chosen.

If you're looking for particular lightness or darkness of wood coloring, we can often accommodate these requests. We truly are selecting each piece of wood for your order, and are here to build your ideal wood furniture. This will be most impactful with our Natural Finish, as it's designed to enhance (rather than color) the natural tones of the wood.

Be sure to indicate your preference in the note section at checkout or by contacting us at hello@kasecustom.com. If you see a picture on our site that reflects what you're looking for, please share that as well.

Imperfections, or irregularities, tell the story of the wood’s past life.

On each product page, we mention the presence of nail holes and/or markings, wood grain, and slight color variance in hopes that you'll embrace these evidences of the wood’s history.

Our restoration process is careful to refine, not disguise, these elements.

We start with a rigorous reclaimed wood sourcing process before the wood ever enters our shop. Then, our highly selective artisans choose each piece of wood individually when building your order.

Each piece of wood holds a variety of properties depending on the species of tree it comes from, including:

  • How and what part of the tree was felled
  • The age of the tree and the part it came from
  • How the piece of wood adapted at the sawmill
  • How the minerals in the soil impacted its growth.
  • How the wood was treated and weathered in its past lives.

At Kase Custom, we refine these irregularities for a cohesive, natural look still reflective of the wood’s history, lending legacy and visual interest to its new life as custom furniture.

Proper care for this long-wearing, sustainable material will nourish its timeless appeal for future generations.

  • Use a damp, lint-free cloth for regular cleaning
  • Add a drop of natural soap as needed
  • Promptly dry moisture

Note: Your furniture never needs detergent, bleach, ammonia or all-purpose cleaners. These products are harmful to both the finish and wood.

All reclaimed wood bears evidence of its past life in the form of texture, knots, character, and nail holes.

Our process of sanding and hand-brushing honors and refines these natural elements while building a practical, durable and sustainable piece.

As you run your hands over any piece of our furniture, you will feel the smooth finish of stain and sealants and the natural texture and character of the wood.

We don't offer wood samples, no. This is because the nature of reclaimed wood lends to such a range of wood tones and personality plank to plank. You'll see this most evidenced in photos of our Natural Finish tabletops, where each section of wood is so unique to the next.

We understand the desire to experience our reclaimed wood and finish colors firsthand, and we want you to feel confident in your purchase.

Explore the Materials and Finishes page for a variety of photos of each finish color option across designs.

While we cannot guarantee your Kase Custom piece will look identical to any previous piece we’ve designed, we’re confident that your overall finish color and aesthetic will match what you see across our website.

If you're looking for a specific arrangement of wood tones, contact us at hello@kasecustom.com or through our Design Help page.

We offer three signature finish colors.

  • Natural: A minimalist finish intended to enhance the wood's purest form.
  • Provincial: our classic walnut shade.
  • Espresso: a richly grained dark brown.

Visit our Materials and Finishes page for more information and visual examples of each.
